Day 13 Rome, Italy

📅  13th July 2025 📍Rome

From Monaco to Rome – Tunnels, Vitamins, and the Smallest Country in the World

After our drive through Southern Europe, we finally arrived in Monaco last night. And of course, what couldn’t be missed? A quick stop at the Formula 1 race track.

From there, we headed straight towards Rome. The route itself is quite an experience: tunnel after tunnel – the stretch from Monaco to Genoa runs almost entirely along the coast, interrupted only by countless long tunnels.

Along the way, we took a short break by the sea and stopped at one of the many small fruit stands to pick up some fresh fruit. After all, vitamins are essential on a tour like this.

Once we arrived in Rome, the most important stop of the day awaited us: the Vatican City. We were warmly welcomed and had the unique opportunity to take photos of St. Peter’s Basilica – without the usual crowds, since we were allowed to drive our vehicle directly into the smallest country in the world. This also marked the 21st country on the ID. Buzz World Tour checklist.

On our way out of Rome, we passed by the Colosseum – a quick glance at yet another world-famous landmark before continuing on towards San Marino.

Next stop: San Marino.
