Day 16 Belgrade, Sarajevo
📅 16th July 2025 📍Sarajevo
From Belgrade to Sarajevo – Borders, Batteries, and Balkan Hospitality
We crossed into Serbia early in the morning – the kind of sleepy-eyed border crossing where the mist still hangs over the fields and the only sound is our tires rolling toward Belgrade.
In the Serbian capital, we met up with our friends from Giti Tyres. The meeting was short but meaningful. Besides talking shop and sharing stories from the road, they gave us a hand with something pretty crucial: helping us film some shots around the city and making sure the EV was topped up and ready for the next stretch.
With a full battery and the city skyline fading in the rear-view mirror, we hit the road again – this time toward Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Crossing the border meant crossing the river, and the landscape began to shift almost immediately. The road to Sarajevo winds through lush valleys and dramatic mountain scenery.
Sarajevo welcomed us with open arms – and a packed schedule. We visited the city’s largest Volkswagen dealership, where a group of journalists and local partners were already waiting. There was curiosity, excitement, and a ton of questions – the good kind, the kind that shows people are genuinely interested in what we’re doing.
As the sun set behind the hills, we all gathered around a long table at a local restaurant. Good food, great conversation, and a shared sense of purpose. And honestly – that dinner? Absolutely delicious.
