Day 67+68+69 Peking

📅 5th/6th/7th September 2025 📍Peking, China

A Day in Beijing with Volkswagen China

Our time in Beijing took on a distinctly Volkswagen flavour. The highlight was our visit to Dr Robert Cisek, CEO of Volkswagen Passenger Cars Brand for China and Executive Vice President of Volkswagen Group China. We had the privilege to present our record-setting journey to the keenly interested staff of Volkswagen China. The event was a real pleasure; the team’s enthusiasm was palpable—especially as the ID. Buzz is revered as an icon here, even though it’s not yet available on the Chinese market.

Afterwards, we joined two bloggers for a spin around the Olympic Park. Both were driving the ID.3, courtesy of Volkswagen’s joint venture partner, SAIC. Together, we filmed and captured content for the bloggers’ social media channels, celebrating the spirit of electric travel.

A brief stop at the impressive Olympic Centre—the renowned ‘Bird’s Nest’—offered another chance for snapshots before the evening drew us into Beijing’s historic heart. Wandering the Hutongs, those charming old alleyways that preserve the capital’s traditional character, we soaked up the atmosphere of another side of the city.

As a delightful surprise, we received a hand-drawn artwork of the ID. Buzz—a thoughtful gift that emphasised just how much this car has captured the imagination.
