Day 98 Kuala Lumpur to Malacca

📅 6th October 2025 📍(Malacca, Malaysia)

Kuala Lumpur to Singapore: Press, Colonial History, and Final Preparations

The morning of 6th October commenced with a brilliantly attended press conference at Volkswagen Malaysia’s showroom in Kuala Lumpur. More than forty press representatives gathered, all thoroughly captivated by the ID. Buzz and our remarkable journey across continents.

Following the event was an interview with Dr. Enki Tan, CEO of Giti Tire. Then, with a Key Opinion Leader accompanying us, we set off for Malacca, one of Malaysia’s most treasured colonial cities. Malacca is renowned for its distinctive red buildings and the Dutch-built Christ Church from 1753—an architectural gem painted in that characteristic terracotta hue that has defined the city’s Dutch Quarter since 1911.

Equally impressive was seeing the replica of the ship that once carried colonial administrators to these shores, a tangible reminder of the layers of history embedded in every street corner.

A swift recharge at a hyper-fast charger alongside an electric bus prepared us for the next leg, followed by a visit to our friends at Volkswagen in Johor. Their support would prove invaluable in the days ahead, providing exactly the assistance we needed for the final stretch.

Next stop: Singapore!
