Day 127 from Bali to Jakarta

📅 4th November 2025 📍Jakarta, Indonesia

Testing, Cleaning and Shipping: The ID. Buzz Leaves Indonesia

The return leg from Bali to Surabaya brought one more special stop: a visit to the Giti Tire proving ground near Jakarta, one of the largest tyre testing facilities in Southeast Asia. Giti used the occasion to present the project to national dealers, while we put the ID. Buzz through its paces on the track in a series of driving exercises—a fitting test for a car that had already covered so many demanding miles.

After leaving the testing ground, the ID. Buzz was driven back to Jakarta’s port. There, it was time for a completely different kind of work: an intensive cleaning session to prepare the vehicle for entry into Australia. Fender liners and wheel-arch covers had to be removed and scrubbed, every trace of soil and organic material eliminated to satisfy Australia’s strict biosecurity regulations.

Once fully cleaned and inspected, the ID. Buzz was carefully loaded into a twenty-foot container, secured for its next ocean crossing. The container was booked on a Maersk vessel bound for Melbourne, with arrival expected on the 9th of December.

Next stop: Melbourne!
