Day 253 from Kaahama to Ngara, Tanzania

📅 11TH March 2026 📍Tanzania

Dusty road

Early in the morning, we were awakened by loud knocking. Right in front of our hotel, stones were being broken apart to produce material for building a wall.

As we continued our journey, we reached the hometown of the TANESCO electrical chief who had supported us with charging our VW ID. Buzz throughout Tanzania. There, locals warmly invited us to join them for a coffee.

Our route then took us through a large gold mining village, where motorcycles are the primary means of transportation and dominate the streets.

After a relaxed charging stop at a newly built substation, the road conditions changed once again. The asphalt disappeared, and the route turned into a red dirt track leading us further into the vast landscape.
