Arriving Antofagasta

We reached Antofagasta, an important mining city in northern Chile, on a sunny Sunday, with surfers and sea lions enjoying the beaches. We continued our journey south along the coast and met a very friendly Brazilian family traveling through South America in their bus. Almost everywhere we go, we meet people with a great passion for vintage Volkswagen vehicles.

Along the coast, we saw many fishermen collecting seaweed for the Chinese health market. In Taltal, our stop for the night, we charged for the last time in South America using our three-phase converter from Stodier. It proved to be a great piece of equipment, supporting us reliably, especially in China, Africa, and Peru, without any problems.
