Day 4: Border Estonia / Latvia

📅  4th July 2025
📍Border Estonia / Latvia

The crossing from Stockholm to Helsinki took a full 16 hours, which is why we spent the night on board and started our day right here on the ship.

Before disembarking in Helsinki, we had the chance to experience a special highlight: a visit to the ship’s bridge. The captain himself wished us good luck for the rest of the journey – as did the entire bridge crew. A great way to start the day!

At 10:30 a.m., we docked in Helsinki and went straight to our next appointment: a meeting with our partner Volkswagen Finland. We were warmly welcomed by Riitta – a short but lovely exchange, as we soon had to board the next ferry: from Helsinki to Tallinn.

Upon arrival in Tallinn, we were greeted by Kristian, our local contact from Volkswagen Estonia. What we didn’t know at the time: we had arrived right in the middle of one of Estonia’s largest cultural events. This weekend marks the Estonian Song and Dance Festival – a massive celebration of choral music and traditional dance that only takes place every five years. The city was bustling with energy.

Before heading toward the Latvian border, we made a quick stop in the city of Pärnu, including a visit to it’s famous beach.

Next stop: Riga.
