Hefei: Innovation, Encounters and Electric Dreams

Departing from Suzhou, we journeyed to Hefei, feeling rather fortunate to touch down in a city where not only our main sponsor Giti but also Volkswagen both have significant presences. Hefei is quickly becoming a true hub of automotive progress, with both companies having established their own research and development divisions right here—the Volkswagen facilities are even known locally as ‘the Campus’.

Our visits to Giti and then to Volkswagen’s R&D Campus revealed a remarkable level of enthusiasm, with staff eager to learn about our electric ID. Buzz and the story behind our expedition. The warmth came not just from Volkswagen and Giti employees, but from passers-by around the campus itself.

A special thanks is undoubtedly owed to our sponsor IFM, who marked our arrival in Hefei by sending representatives to meet us in person. Their support really helped make our time in the city memorable.
